Hey, I am Jonas

I work as a project manager. A parent. An expat residing in München, Germany.

Several years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.

How It Began

Moving to Germany wasn’t in our long-term plans. Like many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.

The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed more tangled than they ought to be.

The Adjustment Phase

There was cultural adjustment, ambiguity, and plenty of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began constructing something that felt steady.

Why I Established KelFylLurPyr

Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow travel content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.

This site aims to fill that void — practical guidance grounded in real life in Germany.

What This Site Is (And Isn't)

This site IS:

  • Real-world insights from living in Germany
  • Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
  • Updated only when something truly changes

This site ISN'T:

  • Not an official tourism authority resource
  • Not a sponsored-review platform
  • Not a generic travel blog

Looking Ahead

Our stay in Germany goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we discover.

If you have questions about family life in München or anywhere in Germany, please get in touch.

Best regards,

Jonas
